Mixing Engineer

This is an opportunity for a skilled mixing engineer to finalize a diverse collection of approximately 20 songs for a unique personal project, Urban Scuba. The music spans genres including bossa nova, industrial, rock, singer-songwriter, and electronic, offering a dynamic and creative challenge. All tracks have been mixed to varying degrees in Pro Tools and require professional polish and finishing touches.

Some songs will need more in-depth attention than others. The project is time-sensitive, with the goal of preparing official tracks for an upcoming show that features a blend of music, choreography, and water elements. Audio files and reference tracks will be provided, and the ideal candidate will be available for a short-term engagement with the possibility of future collaboration.

• Review and assess the current state of each track, identifying areas for improvement and finalization
• Mix and polish up to 20 songs in a variety of genres, ensuring consistency and high-quality sound across the collection
• Collaborate remotely, receiving and delivering files efficiently, with the option for in-person meetings if based in the NJ/NYC area
• Incorporate feedback and reference tracks to achieve the desired sonic vision for the show
• Prepare final mixes suitable for live performance and potential release
• Meet project deadlines to ensure tracks are ready for the upcoming show

• Proven experience as a mixing engineer, with a portfolio demonstrating versatility across multiple genres
• Proficiency in Pro Tools and familiarity with industry-standard mixing techniques
• Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver polished, professional mixes
• Excellent communication skills and responsiveness to feedback
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tracks within a tight timeframe
• Availability for a short-term project, with flexibility for potential follow-up work
• Based in or able to collaborate with clients in the NJ/NYC area preferred, but remote candidates will be considered
