Freelance Associate Designer

Employment Type: Freelance (3-month contract with potential to convert to full-time)

Client is seeking a detail-oriented Freelance Associate Designer to support Women’s active and sportswear team. This is a new role created to meet growing demand and will focus heavily on sketching and building accurate, production-ready tech packs.

• Create clear, detailed flat sketches in Adobe Illustrator for women’s active and sportswear styles.
• Develop, update, and maintain comprehensive tech packs, including construction details, measurements, trims, and artwork callouts.
• Translate design direction and sketches into production-ready documentation for internal teams and factory partners.
• Apply strong garment construction knowledge to ensure designs are both aesthetically on-brief and technically executable.
• Collaborate with designers and product development to refine details, troubleshoot issues, and maintain consistency across categories.
• Organize files in Illustrator and PLM (PLM training will be provided).
• Support the women’s team with quick sketch turnarounds, revisions, and tech pack updates as timelines shift.

• Associate- or early mid-level experience as an Apparel/Fashion Designer, Technical Designer, or similar role.
• Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills

• Solid understanding of garment construction (seams, finishes, stitch types, and construction methods).
• Experience creating and maintaining tech packs for apparel; familiarity with PLM is a plus (training available).
• Background in women’s active wear, sportswear, or performance apparel strongly preferred.
• High attention to detail, strong organization, and the ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines at once.
• Comfort working in a collaborative environment and taking direction from senior designers.
