Location: New York
We are a growing women’s apparel brand specializing in trend-forward, commercially successful product for major retailers and off-price accounts. We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Ladies Sleepwear Designer to join our team and help expand our sleep and loungewear category.
The Ladies Sleepwear Designer will be responsible for designing seasonal collections of sleepwear and loungewear, from concept to final production. The ideal candidate has strong trend awareness, fabric knowledge, and experience designing for volume retail accounts.
Key Responsibilities- Research trends, colors, fabrics, and trims for sleepwear and loungewear
- Develop seasonal mood boards and concept presentations
- Design sleep sets, gowns, chemises, robes, pajama sets, and loungewear
- Create detailed CADs and tech packs for overseas factories
- Work closely with production and sourcing teams on fabric development
- Communicate with factories regarding fit, construction, and sample revisions
- Attend fittings and make necessary corrections
- Ensure designs meet target costing and margin requirements
- Present concepts to internal team and retail buyers when needed
- 3+ years experience in women’s sleepwear or intimates design
- Strong knowledge of fabrics (jersey, modal, satin, lace, fleece, etc.)
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
- Experience creating tech packs and working with overseas factories
- Strong understanding of fit, grading, and garment construction
- Ability to design for both trend and commercial accounts
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
