As the Business Affairs Administration Manager
, you'll support the digital business team and be responsible for managing the blanket licenses that cover the global digital business for music publishing and assist with U.S. rights enforcement activities. This role reports to the SVP of Business and Legal Affairs who oversees the global digital business for Concord Music Publishing.
What you'll do:
- Provide support to the Legal/BA team that oversees the global digital business for Concord Music Publishing
- Administration of existing blanket and catalog-wide publishing licenses
- Maintaining contract management database for the team
- Liaising with appropriate people and departments after deal completion, from contract signing to invoicing, catalog delivery, etc.
- Prepare service briefs, active and expiring deal reports, and project-based memoranda for internal business purposes
- Help manage internal and external communications across relevant departments (e.g., copyright, royalty, etc.)
- Manage digital content takedown requests for the music publishing division
What you’ll need:
- 4-6 years of paralegal or equivalent experience at a music publishing or digital media company, or at a law firm (IP, entertainment, or corporate)
- Ability to articulate how music is used in a digital service or device from a technological and/or legal perspective
- Experience working with Excel, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar spreadsheet and/or project management software
- Knowledge or interest in learning the difference between recorded music and music publishing from a music business perspective and in the context of U.S. copyright law
- A general understanding of the Digital Millennial Copyright Act (DMCA) and related rules
- Up to date on the latest news on music and technology
- Attention to detail and a conscientious approach, ability to manage large volumes of sensitive information with utmost discretion and care
Salary Range: $70,000-$80,000
This is a hybrid role and requires 3 days in office
