Law & Crime is looking for a vMix Operator to support the technical execution of a daily broadcast in partnership with producers and on‑air talent. You will be responsible for the visual flow of the channel, ensuring that transitions are frame‑accurate and the production value remains "Network Grade" despite the lean, agile nature of the setup.
Responsibilities- Live Switching: Execute 8 hours of programming daily using vMix
, managing multiple NDI/SRT/SDI inputs, including remote feeds and internal studio cameras. - Dynamic Graphics: Operate and integrate Tagboard to bring in real‑time social data, heat maps, and interactive polling overlays.
- Feed Management: Rapidly switch between primary feeds and secondary "holding" feeds during breaks or technical delays.
- Playback Coordination: Integrate pre‑recorded segments and packages into the live stream with perfect timing.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Monitor stream health and audio levels, performing "on‑the‑fly" routing adjustments as needed to maintain broadcast continuity.
- Collaboration: Work in lockstep with the Host and Producer to anticipate transitions, ensuring the visual storytelling matches the commentary.
- Proficiency in operating VMix software, video production systems, and streaming platforms
- Experience with technical setups, including camera operations, audio equipment, and lighting systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills for a variety of production scenarios
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team under tight deadlines
- Knowledge of video encoding, streaming protocols, and broadcast solutions is a plus
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant technical certification in Media Production, Broadcasting, or a related field preferred
- Prior experience in live event production or broadcast environments
- Experience with Bitfocus Companion and Stream Deck integration.
- Knowledge of SRT protocols and remote caller integration (VMix Call).
Compensation: $35-50 / hr full time, depending on experience.
You’ll be working with a lean, elite team where your input on the workflow and "look" of the channel will be directly implemented. No corporate red tape—just high‑speed, high‑quality broadcasting.
