Cinematic Actor Showcase Scenes – Public University Production (NYC Area)
We are seeking an experienced one-person filmmaker/videographer to shoot and deliver 7 short, cinematic showcase scenes for advanced acting students at a public city university.
This showcase is entirely student-funded through their own fundraising efforts. The department does not have an institutional showcase budget. We welcome community-minded artists, collaborators, and professionals who value supporting emerging talent.
This is a performance-driven project — the focus is the actors — but the finished scenes must look polished, professional, and visually compelling.
Project Overview- 7 scenes
- Under 3 minutes each
- Scripts selected from published plays / existing screenplays
- Produced by students & faculty
- Directed by faculty who work professionally in film/TV
Create dialogue scenes that feel like they’re pulled from a film or prestige television series — cinematic, grounded, actor-focused.
We will ensure the quality of performance.
We are looking for a filmmaker who will ensure the actors look their best on camera — flattering, thoughtful cinematography that supports the storytelling without distracting from it. This is showcase material; presentation matters.
