The Control Room Technician is a multi‑skilled operator who can thrive in numerous roles in the control room, including Image Operator, Carousel Operator, Xpression Operator, and Prompter. The primary focus is to create and operate livestream broadcasts, ensuring they meet quality standards and deadlines. They maintain comprehensive tracking documents, collaborate closely with the producer team for incoming requests and changes, and manage ASINs/SKU information, contributing to the smooth operation of live broadcast productions.
The Control Room Technician has a high‑level of customer service with a solutions‑orientated approach.
This position is part of our Flex Workforce. As a Flex team member, you’ll work on a project‑to‑project basis, supporting a variety of leading media and technology clients. Flex roles are ongoing and dynamic—work may vary in cadence, length, and scope depending on client needs. This setup offers flexibility, exposure to top‑tier companies, and the chance to grow your skills across multiple exciting assignments.
Estimated schedule:
Varies 2‑8 shifts per month. (Specific schedules will vary by project and client engagement.)
- As Carousel Operator: manage the creation of all broadcasts, own and maintain tracking documents containing all broadcast information, collaborate daily with the producer team to manage incoming requests and all changes, add all ASINs/SKU information to broadcasts, manage creation and influencer proxy access for all channels, diagnose issues in the Creator App and troubleshoot with the product team, create and maintain SOPs for daily functions and new developments, stay in close and frequent communication with the control room team, including the director.
- Image Operator: build/prep graphic assets (full frame images and b‑roll) and operate all livestream broadcasts, assist the director with rundown timing, take cues from the director during live broadcasts and work in tandem with the Xpression Operator, moderate live chat(s), rundown management in Shoflo/Airtable.
- Additional Functions: X‑Pression operation, prompter operation, step in to AD, remote coordinate a livestream and/or TPM if needed.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma required.
- Advanced experience with OBS software is required.
- Experience in television, film or post‑production.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Experience in light editing work and/or associate producer roles is a plus.
This project‑based role offers an hourly pay rate of $28‑32 depending on experience.
