A strategic storyteller committed to exploring new creative territories, the ideal candidate can spin cultural trends, industry realities, and audience insights into marketing gold, crafting unique partnership opportunities and content strategies that break new ground, captivate audiences and exceed client expectations.

This role will report into Creative Director, Partnerships & Innovation, and is a senior member of the team that leads the pitch function of the Washington Post’s advertising sales organization. This role is based at either The Post’s headquarters in Washington, D.C. or New York, NY.

How You’ll Support the Mission
  • Develop high-value, cohesive and strategically-led client proposals incorporating original branded content ideas, live events, digital media and newsroom collaborations and sponsor ships.
  • Ideate and pitch custom content strategies that deliver solutions to client challenges.
  • Manage the flow of collaboration among all stakeholders whose contributions are needed to deliver the most strategic pitches and proposals.
  • Be responsible for building and finalizing materials in the proposal process, which could include one-sheeters, decks or other forms.
  • Captivate agency and client audiences with dynamic presentations (in person and on video calls) of your solutions, sparking enthusiasm and inspiring action.
  • Work with agility and flexibility across multiple client proposals and opportunities.
  • Take initiative on proactive projects outside of daily tasks and proposal work, particularly on things that will benefit the team as a whole.
  • Additional pre-sale support as needed.
The Skills And Experience You Bring
  • 5+ years developing go-to market creative strategies with brands, media agencies, and/or news publications.
  • Possess a steady hand, competitive drive, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Expert at building trust and relationships across the advertising sales organization and beyond.
  • Highly organized with strong written, visual and verbal presentation skills.
