Associate Designer, SLGs- Fashion Brand NYC

Our client, a famous fashion brand, is seeking a Associate Designer to join their Small Leather Goods team on a contract basis in their New York office!

• Work under the direction of the Design Director in creating elevated products for small leather goods categories; take direction and demonstrate awareness of timelines and process to meet established deadlines.
• Assist with the creation of seasonal design boards and keeping them updated.
• Sketch both by hand and by Adobe Illustrator, create tech packs and PLM entry.
• Collect, track and ensure all information is compiled and easily accessible.
• Create thorough tech packs with sketches, complete construction details, and provide mock‑ups if needed.
• Create and execute color CADs using Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Prep samples and proto for review.

• 2+ years of experience in handbag industry, ideally at luxury retailer
• High proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
• Strong illustrator skills, sketching, CAD’ing and spec’ing experience
• Must be able to build detailed and organized technical package
• Passionate about design and willing to learn and take on new challenges
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Adaptability in a fast‑paced environment, ability to work on multiple product seasons at one time
• Must provide digital portfolio of work
