Inspired by daring artists, MoMA PS1 is committed to the exploration of contemporary art and culture, broadening perspectives on the issues of our day, and engaging New Yorkers and communities across the world. Founded in 1976, the institution was a defining force in the alternative space movement in New York City, transforming a 19th-century public schoolhouse in Long Island City into a site for artistic experimentation and creativity.

PS1 is affiliated with The Museum of Modern Art and a member of New York City’s Cultural Institutions Group (CIG).

PS1 seeks part-time Production Assistants to work closely with members of the Program Production and Special Events staff to support and realize PS1’s ambitious schedule of public programs, live events, performances, talks, openings, private events, and rentals. Working cross-departmentally with the Program Production, External Affairs, Curatorial, Operations, and Visitor Engagement teams, Production Assistants assist with the planning and execution of live events including: technical production;

stage management; sourcing and fabricating materials; management of A/V equipment, inventory, and rentals; and hospitality, artist and client support. Production Assistants are hired on a project-by-project, part-time basis based on MoMA PS1’s programming and event schedule and technical needs.
