Veronica Arts Media (VAM) is a Bronx-based nonprofit organization committed to empowering youth from historically underserved communities through storytelling, filmmaking, podcasting, and performing arts education. By leveraging media as a tool for self-expression, leadership, and social-emotional growth, VAM creates culturally relevant programs that help young people build confidence, discover their voices, and acquire career-connected skills. Since its founding in 2023, VAM has partnered with NYC public schools, community organizations, and nonprofits to deliver high-quality, arts-focused enrichment experiences grounded in equity and creativity.

Role Description

This is a part‑time role for a Teaching Artist at Veronica Arts Media. (4 hours a week) The Teaching Artist will be responsible for facilitating educational arts programs, and delivering engaging activities in storytelling, and filmmaking. The role involves providing direct instruction and fostering student development in a workshop environment. This is an on‑site position located in Bronx, NY, requiring a commitment to active participation in the organization’s vision and goals.

Qualifications
  • Experience in Lesson Planning and Curriculum Development
  • Proficiency in Teaching and Education, particularly in arts or creative disciplines
  • Strong Communication skills to engage effectively with students, colleagues, and community partners
  • Passion for youth development and empowering underserved communities
  • Familiarity with storytelling, filmmaking, podcasting, or performing arts is a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented, diverse environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Arts, or a related field is preferred
