Overview
Job Title:
Technical Designer – Women’s Apparel. We are seeking a hands-on Technical Designer with experience in women’s woven and soft-woven apparel categories to support fit, technical comments, construction follow-up, and technical execution from proto through PP approval.
This role reports directly to the Senior Technical Designer under the Design Department and collaborates with Production to ensure all technical information, approvals, and updates are maintained in the system to support calendar execution and on-time deliveries.
Responsibilities- Support fit execution from proto through PP approval across assigned categories
- Attend and participate in fit sessions with Design and the Senior Technical Designer
- Track fit comments, measurement updates, and construction corrections
- Follow all styles approved into production and PP stages to ensure consistency through final approval
- Communicate technical comments and approvals with domestic and overseas factories
- Partner closely with Production throughout development and PP stages
- Work hand-in-hand with the Senior Technical Designer and Patternmaker on technical notes, fit corrections, and construction updates
- Update and maintain technical information in PLM systems or other similar product development and tracking systems
- Update technical flats and construction callouts using Adobe Illustrator
- Manage measurement charts, fit tracking, and development follow-up in Excel
- Minimum 2-3 years Technical Design experience in women’s apparel
- Strong experience in woven and soft-woven categories
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, grading, and measurements
- Experience working with overseas factories
- Proficiency in:
- PLM systems or similar product development systems
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Photoshop
- Excel
- Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a fast-paced collection environment
- Contemporary or better-goods experience preferred
Salary: $60,000-$75,000
