Aboutthe Role
Trade is looking for a talented, voice-driven Copywriter to craft compelling words across every stage of our customer journey. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you'll bring the Trade brand to life through sharp, purposeful copy—from performance ads and email campaigns to product storytelling, editorial content, and brand moments. You'll balance creative ambition with a sharp eye for what converts, helping us grow an audience of genuinely passionate coffee lovers.
This role is ideal for a writer who obsesses over the right word, understands how tone builds trust, and wants to leave a real mark on a brand people love.
- Write compelling copy across paid media, email, direct mail, landing pages, organic social, and more
- Develop and maintain Trade's brand voice, ensuring consistency and personality across all digital and physical touchpoints
- Partner with Growth to concept and produce performance-driven copy that balances brand integrity with conversion goals
- Collaborate with editorial and content teams to tell the stories of our roasters, our coffees, and our community
- Write copy for brand campaigns, seasonal moments, product launches, and cultural initiatives
- Write copy across the product experience—including onboarding flows, quiz touchpoints, in-app messaging, and subscription communications—to ensure every customer interaction feels distinctly Trade
- Work closely with our Brand Designer to ensure copy and visuals work together seamlessly
- Develop scalable copy templates and frameworks that help the team move faster without sacrificing quality
- Present ideas and copy clearly to cross‑functional stakeholders and leadership
- Stay current on cultural trends, competitive creative, and evolving best practices to keep Trade's voice fresh and relevant
- Provide feedback and light editorial guidance to contractors and external partners to ensure all copy is on‑brand
- A confident, versatile writer with a distinct voice and exceptional attention to craft
- Equally comfortable writing a pithy two‑word tagline and a 500‑word editorial piece
- Fluent in the tension between brand storytelling and performance copy—and skilled at navigating both
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines without sacrificing quality
- Collaborative and open to feedback, with a low‑ego, team‑first approach
- Naturally curious, with a love for language, culture, and a great cup of coffee
- 3+ years of copywriting experience, preferably at a consumer‑facing or DTC brand
- A strong portfolio showcasing range across brand, performance, and editorial copy
- Proven experience writing for paid media, email marketing, landing pages, and web
- Deep understanding of tone, voice, and how copy shapes brand perception
- Experience collaborating with designers to deliver cohesive creative
- Comfort working with data and using performance insights to inform and improve copy
- Knowledgeable about AI‑search and SEO
- Strong communication skills and the ability to give and receive creative feedback
- Experience in startup or high‑growth environments
- Familiarity with subscription businesses or marketplace brands is a plus
