As a Freelance In‑Focus Producer, you’ll serve as the heart of the newsroom. You’ll lead local news coverage, determine the most important stories, collaborate with colleagues to decide what to air, and how to keep our audience informed.

• Developing an in‑depth understanding of local and breaking news
• Creating newscasts that attract and hold audiences’ attention
• Transforming stories from a simple pitch into a hit that inspires and delights viewers
• Collaborating with colleagues to determine what goes on air

• Experience:
  
  Television news – 2+ years
• Education:
  
  Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience
• Technical
  
  Skills:
  
  Knowledge of social media platforms and basic editing skills (Adobe Premiere and Final Cut Pro)
• Skills:
  
  Go‑getter personality, and excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Travel Ability:
  Must be open to travel within your neighborhood to discover important stories and interact with the community
• Schedule:
  
  Ability to work different shifts and be flexible with schedule changes

• Working knowledge of general office computer software, newsroom software, and basic non‑linear editing systems
• May be required to lift up to five pounds

• Works primarily inside a climate‑controlled environment throughout the year but might be assigned field duties on occasion
• Semi‑noisy newsroom setting

The base pay for this position generally is between $55,000.00 and $. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and certain positions are eligible for additional incentive‑based compensation such as bonuses.
