Position: Associate Designer Cut And Sew - Ready To Wear
Location: New York

Summary

Associate Designer responsible for supporting design and development of cut and sew ready to wear collections from concept through technical execution at the New York City headquarters. This role works closely with senior designers, Design Director, Product Development, Technical Design, and Graphics to translate seasonal concepts into detailed designs and tech packs while maintaining brand aesthetic.

Responsibilities
  • Support design and development of original cut and sew designs aligned with brand aesthetic
  • Research global trends techniques and innovations to inform design direction
  • Translate seasonal concepts into initial design ideas under senior guidance
  • Work in 2D and 3D through sketching draping and mockups
  • Partner with Graphics to integrate prints artwork and silhouette
  • Collaborate with Product Development and Technical Design on materials color and construction
  • Create detailed technical sketches and tech packs to communicate design intent
  • Participate in fittings and provide observations on fit and proportion
  • Maintain organized boards reference libraries and PLM data
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field
  • 3 years of experience in fashion design with strong cut and sew background
  • Foundational understanding of fit drape and construction for cut and sew garments
  • Strong taste level and brand awareness
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator Photoshop and CAD sketching
  • Experience with PLM systems Centric or similar preferred
  • Understanding of fabric development and sourcing processes
  • Strong organizational time management communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to balance creative direction with commercial and production realities
