A leading hedge fund is seeking a Senior Design Director to join its Marketing and Brand team. This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining and elevating the firm’s visual brand across marketing, communications, recruiting, events, digital platforms, print collateral, and other strategic initiatives.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in brand design, visual identity systems, and creative governance, along with the ability to operate as both a strategic creative leader and hands‑on designer. This person will serve as a brand steward across the organization, partnering with stakeholders across marketing, communications, talent acquisition, and business teams while directing external agencies and ensuring all creative work meets the highest standards.
Responsibilities- Lead and evolve the firm’s visual brand identity across all internal and external touchpoints
- Serve as the primary brand steward, ensuring consistency and excellence across all creative assets and communications
- Manage and direct external creative agencies, freelancers, and production partners
- Partner closely with marketing, communications, recruiting, and business stakeholders to develop impactful creative solutions
- Oversee the development and execution of digital, print, experiential, environmental, and video‑based creative projects
- Lead branding and creative execution for recruiting events, conferences, client experiences, and internal initiatives
- Develop recruitment marketing and employer branding assets designed to attract top talent
- Maintain and evolve design systems, brand standards, and visual guidelines
- Review and approve creative work, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with business objectives
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional attention to detail and execution quality
- Contribute hands‑on design work when needed, particularly on high‑priority and highly visible initiatives
- 10+ years of professional design experience with a strong focus on brand and visual design
- Proven experience leading complex creative initiatives across digital, print, experiential, and event marketing channels
- Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in brand systems, visual identity, art direction, and visual storytelling
- Experience working within financial services, investment management, private equity, asset management, hedge funds, or similarly sophisticated corporate environments preferred
- Agency experience supporting financial services, corporate, or B2B brands is highly preferred
- Experience managing agency relationships and external creative partners
- Expertise with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Airtable, and related design tools
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to thrive within a lean, high‑performing team while balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution
