Job Overview

Join The New York Post’s Design Team as a Design Editor (Tuesday‑Saturday, 11am‑7pm). You will create striking visual content for digital, social, and print platforms, collaborating closely with editorial and design colleagues to enhance storytelling.

• Design compelling digital visuals including interactive infographics, illustrations, editorial print features, animations for online and social, composites and maps.
• Stay ahead of design trends, tools, and techniques to keep visuals fresh, relevant, and competitive.
• Collaborate with Lead Design Editor and Sr. Design Editors to develop innovative graphic concepts that align with the Post’s brand identity.
• Integrate text and visuals seamlessly with editorial teams to enhance storytelling in both digital and print.
• Create charts and visualizations from complex data sets (e.g., financial reports, press releases) and distill information for general audiences.
• Prioritize multiple projects efficiently in a deadline‑driven environment.

• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects) and design tools such as Flourish and Map Creator.
• Digital‑first design mindset with ability to create assets for web, mobile, and social platforms; solid foundation in print design techniques is required.
• Exceptional sense of typography, layout, and visual & information hierarchy.
• Ability to think creatively and strategically under tight deadlines.
• Passion for news, sports, viral content, pop culture, and emerging digital trends.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and proactive problem‑solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and portfolio showcasing digital design work.
• Basic coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, Java).
• Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed.
• Must be able to work on‑site in the office five days per week.

Base Pay Range: $65,000 – $85,000.
