Primary Function

The Live Event/Broadcast Production Specialist will be responsible for directing and managing the production of broadcasts and live events in our New York studio and auditorium, and for post‑production tasks related to our on‑demand delivery solution. Though primarily a technical‑director role, the role requires a wide variety of production‑specific responsibilities. You will be responsible for supporting all events in our New York facility, meeting with clients, operating hardware in the facility, and for general production responsibilities in support of client needs.

You’ll work with internal teams as well as external clients and vendor partners on a daily basis.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Technical Direction for several events and broadcasts each week.
  • Provide daily support for broadcast and auditorium facilities and respond to technical needs of meetings hosted in the facilities, including producing, directing/technical directing, microphone setup, camera operation, projection equipment, teleprompting, audio, scheduling, and presentation inputs from various media sources.
  • Collaborate closely with Video and Broadcast operations manager and key stakeholders to understand event strategy to support execution.
  • Manage external vendors, suppliers and freelancers as needed.
  • Work with clients/stakeholders who might not be technically minded in pre‑production to explain the capabilities of the space and go over best practices to ensure the event is a success.
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.
  • Conduct pre‑event planning, support event execution, administer a calendar of events.
  • Set up and test event AV equipment to ensure the operation of small to large‑scale audiovisual systems for events and live broadcasts, and clearly report on all work through Engineering Team.
  • Identify and diagnose hardware and software technical problems.
  • Monitor events and broadcast hardware as required, and provide analysis support.
  • Booking/Scheduling as‑needed to fill in for absences.
  • Teleprompter set up and operation as‑needed.
  • Work to encode & deliver post‑production assets to our on‑demand web‑based platform, using various desktop tools and software.
  • Identify opportunities and make recommendations for a better client experience.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with all clients through effective communication.
  • Understand risk and manage events and broadcast accordingly.
  • Understand company processes, and follow procedures and policies accurately.
  • Dress code is event‑dependent, with a more formal business dress‑code during events.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in technical direction for both studio and live event productions.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding of and experience with all equipment required for shows, broadcasts, and corporate events.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to consistently listen and communicate clearly over a company radio/headset.
  • Ability to work events above and beyond the normal working day, including limited evenings and weekends.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong ability to work under pressure in handling the functions of production roles for all sorts of events.
  • Creativity in solving problems using state‑of‑the‑art technology and equipment.
  • Operational knowledge of video editing and encoding software would be beneficial, but not critical as training can be given.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Adobe creative suite, Premiere Pro, Media Encoder.

Education & Experience
