SUNY Niagara seeks a part-time Technical Assistant to support the Music and Audio Recording and Production departments. The rate of pay is based on educational level: $21.86 per hour for a bachelor’s degree or lower, $24.04 per hour for a master’s degree or higher. Applications are accepted on a continuous basis; openings may or may not exist at this time.
Typical Work Activities- Inventory, setup for classes or events, repair/maintenance, research replacement parts and quotes/price.
- Be able to solder cables if needed.
- Operate computers.
- Relate to a diverse population of students, faculty, staff, and senior administration.
- Communicate verbally and in writing.
- Physically perform the functions of the position.
- Some background or experience in music/audio production.
- Familiarity with digital and analog sound equipment setup operations, and AVID Pro Tools software.
- Knowledge of Guitar, Keyboard and Drum instruments including restringing/tuning.
- Bachelor’s degree in Music, Audio Production or related field.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word.
