Groove With Me is a nonprofit dedicated to providing free dance classes to girls in East Harlem and the South Bronx, and we’re looking for passionate volunteer dance teachers to join our community! We are currently seeking volunteers who can commit to our Summer Camp (July 6th – August 7th), with a variety of time slots available. We are also recruiting for the full school year (September – June), with opportunities during after‑school hours (4:00–8:00 PM) as well as Saturdays.
VolunteerTeacher
Teaching at GWM requires a full year commitment (September - June). During the course of the year, you prepare your students for Parent Observation and Participation (POP) Week in December and the End of Year Recital in June. There are also opportunities to perform at community events. We welcome all styles of dance!
Master ClassesIf you’re unable to give a full year commitment, there is still an opportunity to teach! We often like to introduce our girls to professional dancers/choreographers for a one‑time (or more) class where they are able to learn new choreography and dance styles.
SubbingOur teachers are great but sometimes things come up! We are always in need of dancers who can fill in and sub a dance class when the regularly scheduled teacher can’t make it.
