Anchor Production Assistant, MS NOW 11PM

MS NOW is looking for an Anchor Production Assistant for the new 11PM show with host Ali Velshi.
This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.
Responsibilities- Assist in compiling research for anchor, maintaining on-air updates during live program
- Gather information on breaking news stories for anchors to relay on air
- Print scripts for anchors and create one-sheets on guests
- Provide daily support by managing calendars, appearance and schedule
- Schedule and book travel and meetings
- Organize and schedule meetings and interviews
- Maintain and process expense reports
- Respond to correspondences
- Order, build and coordinate graphic elements for air
- Work closely with producers to research, select and locate required photos for broadcast
- Pitch stories and guests for show
- Work on content for digital platforms, social media and MS NOW’s DTC products
- Manage daily content publishing for the show website with working knowledge of Word Press-based video platforms featuring journalism, commentary, podcasts, and book club content
- Upload original videos and curate featured content
- Record 5-10 original studio videos weekly
- Manage automated content from MS NOW and You Tube feeds
- Add book covers, titles, descriptions, and purchase links to Banned Book Club episodes
- Curate homepage “Editor’s Picks” with 2-3 featured pieces weekly
- Monitor and moderate user-submitted AMA questions, flagging interesting submissions
- Maintain publishing schedule and content calendar
- Upload podcast episodes as needed including video, audio, and show notes
- Track and report weekly metrics
- At least one year of news production experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience with Word Press content management
- Comfortable with web-based interfaces and learning new platforms
- Basic understanding of video file formats
- Strong attention to detail
- Good written communication for crafting video descriptions and show notes
- Excellent knowledge of politics, history and current events
- Must have the ability to work under deadline pressure.
- Knowledge of Avid/Interplay and iNews preferred
- Experience with video editing software
- Understanding of SEO/AIO best practices
Job Requirements
- Must be willing to work in New York, NY
- Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States
- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news

Salary Range: $30.00 - $32.00/hr
