CNN is hiring an Associate Producer for its subscription service. The AP position will support production staff with editing clip-based content for VOD, including video creation of daily news videos or evergreen content. The AP must demonstrate strong editorial judgment, a visual eye for compelling video content suitable to various platforms, and proficiency in social media. The AP is also expected to adhere to defined editorial and journalistic standards.

Your New Role
— The Associate Producer will support production staff with editing clip-based content for VOD, and will contribute across day-to-day production operations and publishing processes.

• Supports day-to-day production operations across the team, including logistics, research, and editorial prep.
• Demonstrates growing editorial judgment.
• Shapes story treatments with strong editorial instincts and platform relevance.
• Supports producers in the creative development, research, pre-production and post-production workflows for assigned stories.
• Supports the development and treatment of stories with guidance from producers.
• Logs footage, pulls selects, and assists in fact-checking or sourcing media.
• Organizes production elements such as scripts, graphics, b-roll, music, and assets for easy team access.
• Supports on-set or remote shoots by handling gear, slating, taking notes, or assisting talent.
• Participates in edit reviews and publishing with an understanding of tone, pacing and platform needs.
• Ensures content complies with legal, rights, and editorial standards.
• Remains engaged with platform trends and audience behavior to inform content decisions.
• Assists producers and editors in pre-production, production, and post-production tasks as needed.
• Fulfills responsibilities using technical, editorial, and creative expertise in editing, producing, design and compositing skills, and visual effects; assignments completed under production deadlines with flexible scheduling.

• Typically 1 to 3+ years of related experience in a digital newsroom.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, technical production, or relevant professional work experience.
• Basic understanding of news.
• Sound editorial judgment with an emerging sense of what makes a story distinct and engaging.
• Ability to manage timelines and stay detail-oriented across concurrent assignments.
• Clear communicator and proactive team contributor.
• Eagerness to learn, take feedback, and build a foundation in editorial production.
• Ability to work late nights, weekends and holidays as deadlines warrant.
• Operate camera/audio, assemble radio cuts, apply simple graphics, use CMS and asset tools, and understand basic platform metrics.
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere.

Compensation and Benefits

In compliance with local law, compensation ranges are disclosed where required. Base pay is one component of total compensation. Pay Range: $57,963.00 - $ per year. Additional rewards may include bonuses and incentives. Benefits include health insurance, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings, paid holidays, sick time and vacation.
