Performing Arts Roles/ Dance Instructor, Music & Audio Production
Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Drama Director for the 2026 - 2027 Academic year productions. We seek a talented and energetic individual whose competence, integrity, and collegiality will enrich our first‑rate Performing Arts Department. The Upper School Play Director is responsible for directing and overseeing the annual Grades 9–10 theatrical production during the fall season. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Arts Department and Upper School faculty, guiding students through all aspects of the rehearsal and production process while fostering artistic growth, creativity, and ensemble collaboration.

PRIMARYRESPONSIBILITIES AND
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Direct and oversee the Grades 9–10 Upper School theatrical production during the fall season.
- Select an age‑appropriate play and manage the script review and approval process in collaboration with supervisors, including securing and adhering to all licensing requirements.
- Lead auditions, rehearsals, and performances, creating a positive and engaging experience for student performers.
- Collaborate with designers, technical staff, faculty, and administrators to ensure a successful production.
- Communicate effectively and regularly with students, families, faculty, and staff regarding rehearsal schedules, performance details, and production updates.
- Coordinate production‑related administrative responsibilities, including:
- Providing details for performance programs
- Managing production schedules and calendars
- Supporting logistical planning for performances and events
- Maintain high artistic standards while supporting student learning and development.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor's degree in Theatre, Theatre Education, Performing Arts, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of three years of teaching, directing, or comparable theatre experience.
Specific
Skills:
Advanced training and experience in theatre performance and/or directing.
- Demonstrated ability to produce polished, high‑quality theatrical performances.
- Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work effectively with adolescents in an educational setting.
Special Requirements: Availability for after‑school rehearsals and performances. Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by the production schedule.
Salary: $10,000
Employment Info: Part‑Time (September 2026 – November 2026)
