Senior Newsletter Editor, CNN

We are looking for a Senior Newsletter Editor to lead the development of CNN's flagship evening newsletter. The role focuses on daily editing, strategic planning, and partnership with coverage leaders to ensure content resonates with our audience and supports the larger Audience organization.

• Edit the daily evening flagship newsletter, delivering a conversational yet journalistically rigorous approach that upholds CNN’s editorial standards.
• Collaborate with newsletter writers and leadership to set and execute strategic goals aligned with the Audience organization’s mission.
• Partner with coverage teams to own their newsletter portfolios: evaluate and optimize performance, ensure adherence to best practices, identify opportunities for experiments, and propose new concepts and content.
• Work with news and audience leaders to identify new topics and audience segments to target with newsletters.
• Lead the launch of new newsletters, working with product, analytics, marketing, legal, design, distribution operations and off‑platform teams.
• Collaborate with other Audience teams (Off‑Platform, Audience Development) to share knowledge on trends and performance.
• Write, edit, produce, and send newsletters as needed.
• Pitch new ideas for newsletter products to team leadership on a regular basis.

• 5‑7 years of relevant experience, including writing or editing on a daily deadline.
• Copy‑editor eye for style, formatting, and fact‑checking (experience a plus).
• Fluency in newsletter best practices and email metrics.
• Generalist with strong news judgment able to dive into specific coverage areas, identify top topics, and generate new product ideas.
• Strategic thinker who connects the team’s daily work to organization’s larger goals.
• Creative thinker who uses data to spot trends, spark new ideas, and provide actionable recommendations.
• Clear communicator and proactive collaborator who is curious about audience interests and needs.

Pay range: $80,500.00 – $ per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards.
