Job Description
MS NOW is looking for an experienced Segment Producer for All In with Chris Hayes.
This position is represented by the Writers Guild of America East.
Responsibilities- Research, write and produce daily segments, specifically the host’s lead monologue
- Lead production of segments for digital platforms, including You Tube, Social Media & MS NOW’s DTC products
- Determine video and sound for assigned segments and interviews
- Communicate story development with senior producer
- Be in control room during airing/recording of segments
- Take part in editorial planning
- Pitch story ideas
- Experience producing compelling visual stories with graphics, video, sound and a strongly-written script.
- Must have a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in some form of journalism required (e.g., cable or network news, website, newspaper).
- Superior writing and production skills.
- Strong knowledge of American politics.
- Strong research and reporting skills.
- Control room experience and breaking news experience is preferred.
- Candidate should be able to deal with daily script deadline pressure, including the lead segment which kicks off the show.
- Possess ability to develop story ideas, research and plan segments, specifically the lead segment of the show.
- Exceptional editorial skills:
Ability to recognize stories with high potential for provocative, compelling television. - Experience with content production for digital & social media platforms.
- Knowledge of current events, politics, and pop culture.
- Wide-range reader of news, including op-eds.

- Must be willing and able to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure, including breaking news.
