Associate/Senior Editor – Human Behaviour, Nature Communications

Permanent.

• Handle original research papers, working closely with other editors on manuscript selection and peer review.
• Make well‑reasoned editorial decisions in light of expert advice.
• Determine representation of their subject area in the journal.
• Liaise extensively with editors at other Nature family journals and with international experts.
• Attend conferences and visit research institutions.
• Commission and edit reviews, and write editorials.
• Travel as needed to meet scientists worldwide.

• PhD in quantitative social sciences, computational science or related field.
• Experience with mathematical/computational modelling and simulations (preferred).
• Significant research experience, and thorough understanding of recent trends in the field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; fluent in English.
• Strong ability to read, assess novelty, context and implications of research.
• Passion for science and eagerness to learn broadly.
• Editorial experience not required; encouraged for Senior Editor consideration.

• Competitive salary: $80,000–$95,000 (US). Country‑specific ranges vary.
