Staff Product Designer – CNN Digital Products & Services
We are CNN, the world's most essential and engaging source of digital news. We are in the midst of rapid transformation and need a next‑generation innovator to lead our digital product design efforts across web properties, native mobile apps, and OTT applications.
Responsibilities- Execute all phases of the design process, from wire framing and prototyping to visual design.
- Drive large‑scale, business‑critical projects with cross‑functional teams.
- Contribute to a clear vision for the future of design and implement forward‑thinking solutions.
- Transform concepts into visually tangible flows, plans, and polished visuals based on strong design fundamentals.
- Understand the intersection of product design for media streaming and business goals.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment with broader company objectives.
- Demonstrate strong understanding and implementation of internal design processes.
- Provide thoughtful solutions to complex design problems.
- 8+ years of professional experience as a Product Designer.
- Design portfolio that demonstrates strong UX and visual design solutions, with a focus on identifying and solving user problems.
- Mastery of Figma UX software and prototyping.
- Foundational knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Experience building scalable, localized, and accessible streaming product experiences at a global level.
- Experience with media environments and streaming is a plus.
- Familiarity with subscription life cycles, paywalls, and monetization strategies.
- Exposure to international research or working with distributed, global teams.
- Understanding of product bundling, identity, verification, authentication, and authorization systems.
- Exceptional track record executing on product design strategy and partnering with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience building world‑class product experiences, streamlining workflows with continuous iteration.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong command of user experience design principles, research methodology, testing techniques, design theory, and interaction design.
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, or equivalent professional experience.
Pay Range: $ – $ per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short‑ and long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards.
