Editor in Chief

*** MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE CREATING EDITORIAL STRATEGY COVERING TECHNOLOGY AND SCIENCE***

A leading digital media platform covering technology, science, and modern culture, known for its sharp reporting, product reviews, and commentary on the intersection of innovation is seeking an Editor-in-Chief to lead and grow one of its key websites covering technology, science, and entertainment. This position reports to the Managing Director. The ideal candidate is a confident, capable leader with deep experience in editing, reporting, and team organization.

As Editor-in-Chief, you’ll manage a team of writers and editors, helping early-career journalists develop their skills while also mentoring seasoned reporters. You should have a genuine interest in technology, consumer electronics, culture, and science, along with a clear plan for expanding the audience and building a larger community of dedicated, repeat readers.

• Set the editorial strategy, including on-site content and newsletters
• Ensure journalism meets high standards of excellence
• Oversee and manage the performance of the site’s four desks
• Meet growth targets for reach, engagement, and loyal audience
• Hire, retain, and develop editorial staff
• Manage the editorial budget
• Represent the brand externally at events and in the media to raise its profile

• Strong leadership skills with experience of managing a team of journalists in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• First-rate editorial judgment and editorial skills
• A passion for technology and broad knowledge of the tech industry
• Ability to generate original ideas for creative and engaging content
• Demonstrable interpersonal skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a diverse team
• Strong collaborative skills, including experience working with stakeholders across an organization

Minimum and maximum base salary is approximately $165,000 to $180,000, exclusive of any other incentive or benefit.
