About the RoleABC7 KGO-TV is the Bay Area's news leader. This role involves anchoring weekend morning newscasts, reporting three days per week, and serving as a fill‑in anchor on weekdays. The successful candidate will produce, shoot, write and edit stories for linear TV, online news, and 24/7 streams, and maintain an active presence on social media.
Responsibilities- Anchor weekend morning newscasts on linear TV and streaming.
- Report local stories from the field, producing live reports.
- Write, shoot and edit stories, appearing live from the field during station newscasts.
- Create and manage digital scripts, copy‑edit scripts and original copy.
- Produce social media content and maintain an active online presence.
- Represent KGO at community and promotional events.
- 5+ years of experience in a top 50 market.
- Excellent writing skills and solid news judgment.
- Ability to shoot video and edit stories for linear and digital platforms using non‑linear desktop editing.
- Proficient with handheld prosumer/consumer cameras and non‑linear editing tools.
- Superior on‑camera presentation.
- Bilingual—advantageous.
- Knowledge of the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Bachelor’s degree required (Journalism or Communications preferred).
This SAG‑AFTRA role in San Francisco, CA offers a pay range of $90,948 to $208,000 per year, with potential overtime and early‑morning/overnight shift compensation. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Select benefits may include medical, financial, and other benefits.
Other InformationThis position is covered under the Company’s collective bargaining agreement with SAG‑AFTRA.
