Pantheon and Doubleday are currently seeking an Associate Publicist to work on a wide variety of fiction, nonfiction, and graphic titles across both imprints’ literary and commercial lists.

Specific responsibilities include:
- Executing media campaigns for both paperback and hardcover titles across a range of genres, including securing national, regional, and niche media (radio, TV, print, online, newsletters, podcast).
- Independently planning and executing author tours, including author travel, andmaintainingdetailed author schedules.
- Accompanying authorstolocal NYC based interviews and bookselling events.
- Developing andmaintainingstrong working relationships with producers, editors, book reviewers, event coordinators, festivals, and booksellers.
- Communicating and building partnerships with agents, as well as managing high-touch author care.
- Creating persuasive press materials, including press releases, pitch letters, author Q&As, and story ideas.
- Reading manuscripts ahead of publication and contributing to publicity plans.
- Collaborating with the editorial, marketing, and sales teams on campaign execution.
- Identifying new media opportunities tobuild on existing contacts and brainstorms creative angles for our list.
- Supporting coordination for periodic media events for imprint authors
- Minimum of 2 years of publicity experience in a publishing environment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team setting
- Ability to meet deadlines, multitask, and prioritize
- Ability to independently manage campaign budgets
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be a creative and strategic thinker
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of Muck Rack,Reletter,Podchaser, or similar media databases a plus
- Interest in graphic publishing and the evolving media landscape aplus
This is a hybrid position with in-office responsibilities(approximately 2-3days a week).Wewill consider candidates who can work from a commutable distance to our offices at 1745 Broadway, which includes the tri-state area (NJ, CT,andNY).
The salary range for this position is $56,000. All positions are currently eligible for annual profit award or bonus, subject to Company results.
