Role DescriptionThis is a part-time, on-site Dance Instructor role located in New York, NY and North Jersey areas. The Dance Instructor will teach ballroom and related dance styles to individuals and groups, using clear, structured lessons adapted to different skill levels. Daily responsibilities include planning class content, demonstrating techniques, leading practice sessions, providing individualized feedback, and ensuring a safe and encouraging studio environment.
The role also involves preparing students for performances, social dance events, or competitions, and collaborating with studio staff on scheduling and program development. Instructors are expected to maintain professionalism, punctuality, and positive communication with students and colleagues.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Dance Instruction and Dance Education.
- Candidates should possess effective Teaching skills and experience guiding learners of varied ages and levels.
- Candidates should possess solid abilities in Dance performance and technique across ballroom or related styles.
- Candidates should possess an understanding of Music, rhythm, and musicality as applied to dance.
- Additional beneficial qualifications include prior studio or performing arts experience, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to manage classes safely and professionally.
- Formal training, certifications, or relevant coursework in dance or education are preferred but not required.
