We’re currently producing Plugged In Archives, a 10‑episode cinematic documentary series that tells the story behind the creation of Plugged InN through visually driven, emotionally engaging filmmaking.
Position OverviewWe’re seeking a talented Lead Cinematographer / Editor to become the long‑term visual storyteller behind Plugged In Archives. This is more than a freelance project—we’re looking for a creative partner who can help establish the visual identity of the series from Episode 001 through Episode 010.
The ideal candidate understands cinematic storytelling through composition, lighting, camera movement, pacing, sound design, and color grading. You’ll work directly with the Founder and a small production team to bring each episode to life.
Project Scope- 10 planned documentary episodes
- Approximately 5 minutes per episode
- Filming throughout New York City
- One production day per episode (typically 4–5 hours)
- Small production team
- Long‑term creative collaboration
Every episode includes a detailed script, production guide, shot list, storyboard, and creative direction prior to filming.
Responsibilities- Film each episode using cinematic techniques
- Edit each episode into a polished cinematic short film
- Perform professional color correction and color grading
- Complete sound design and audio enhancement
- Add archive‑style titles, graphics, and transitions where needed
- Deliver one 60‑second trailer
- Deliver two promotional teaser edits
- Deliver five vertical social media clips
- Provide high‑resolution still frames from the footage for marketing
Flat Rate: $1,200 per completed episode
This project consists of 10 planned episodes, creating a potential contract value of $12,000 for the right creative partner.
Payment is made upon completion and delivery of each episode and its agreed‑upon deliverables.
Qualifications- Strong portfolio or demo reel required
- Experience with documentary, narrative, or cinematic filmmaking
- Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software
- Strong understanding of camera operation, lighting, composition, and cinematic storytelling
- Experience with professional color grading and sound design
- Reliable, organized, and able to meet production deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to commit to the full 10‑episode series preferred
