On-call part-time Video Editor (various shifts, as needed) to help create compelling, shareable videos for the New York Post's digital platforms. The producer is looking for a candidate who believes news doesn’t have to be boring and appreciates both odd and conventional stories.
Our goal is to make a mark in digital video and create memorable work and new watching habits among our audience, making videos that surprise viewers.
Responsibilities- Edit videos for digital platforms using a mix of original footage, stock footage, and social media content.
- Work autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess knowledge across a variety of topic areas from national news, trends, and tabloid fare.
- Ability to write short compelling headlines, video descriptions, short‑form scripts, and conduct quick research on various topics.
- 3–5 years of experience editing short‑form video for digital outlets.
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere.
- The ability to color correct and mix audio.
- Experience with multicam editing, both with and without producers.
- Ability to select and use music to match the tone and style of the story.
- Excited about new types of multimedia storytelling with a track record of creating digital video in a fast‑paced newsroom environment on weekly deadlines.
- Aware of current events across a broad range of topics.
- Knowledgeable and skilled to pitch across various topic areas from national news, trends, and tabloid fare.
- Must be organized, work well in a fast‑paced environment, and be a team‑player.
- Motion graphics and simple animation experience is a plus.
- Knowledge about post‑production workflow is a plus.
Other Information:
This role may require on‑site presence at our Midtown, NYC location.
This is a temporary engagement facilitated through a third‑party vendor. Employment and payroll will be managed by the vendor.
Salary: $25–$40/Hr based on experience.

Base Pay Range: $25/Hr – $40/Hr. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.
