About the Book

This book tells the story of a transformative spiritual journey with elephants in Botswana. Spirituality and photography play a central role in the narrative, so the design must seamlessly integrate powerful imagery with thoughtful typography and pacing to create an immersive reading experience.

You:

• Have experience designing visually driven books, especially photography, art, travel, or coffee-table books.
• Have a strong sense of layout, typography, and visual storytelling.
• Are patient, flexible, open-minded, and collaborative.
• Enjoy working with authors who are actively engaged in the creative process.
• Can balance artistic vision with practical production requirements.
• Are comfortable refining ideas through discussion and iteration.

This role may not be the best fit for someone who prefers a highly standardized or rigid publishing workflow. We value creative exploration and are looking for a designer who can help bring an unconventional vision to life.

• Design the overall look and feel of the book.
• Create elegant page layouts that showcase photography and narrative.
• Develop typography and visual systems that support the story.
• Collaborate closely with the author throughout the design process.
• Prepare final files for professional printing.

• Experience designing books centered on nature, wildlife, spirituality, or memoir.
• Knowledge of print production for high-quality illustrated books.
• Ability to suggest creative design solutions that elevate the reader's experience.
