Overview
Designer job description. At Sunrise, designers are at the forefront of the creative process. We’re looking for a detail-oriented person who has superior design skills and experience, along with a portfolio that proves it. With projects ranging in scope, designers at Sunrise Brands must be equipped to manage multiple requirements and deadlines.
More important, the ideal candidate must be able to communicate visually and effectively and have a driven personality. This position is full time in office 5 days a week.
- Design visual concepts using appropriate Adobe Illustrator, Procreate, and Google Slides
- Incorporate relevant branding, marketing, and communication strategies in designs and BOMs
- Precisely issue tech packs for proto and salesman samples based on the line sheets and fabric charts
- Prepping and owning tech pack handoff after receipt of the buy
- Complete design projects on time working in a fast-paced environment
- Understand the calendar dr deadlines and willingness to do what it takes to reach the goals
- Communicate effectively with the Director, PD team, Tech team, Art department, and overseas partners
- Sketch and create line sheets and maintenance of all updates.
- Maintenance of the fabric chart and fabric detail sheets
- Prioritize and action notes from design meetings and touch bases.
- Follow up with the director on emails from our HK partners and providing solutions to problems or needs
- Comment on samples and submits to the overseas factories working in collaboration with the director and PD team
- Maintain an organized office so all materials and submits for the collection are easy to access for reference
- Prepare racks, and samples showrooms for line reviews and market week
- Collaborate with the Art Department on developing the prints and embellishments
- Prepare for design handoffs to tech and production
- Portfolio of high-quality professional work and project samples
- Mastery of foundational design concepts, and understanding of garment construction, fabric and trims
- Proficiency with PLM systems and creating tech packs
- Ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and produce work within deadlines
- Experience working with a ready to wear or contemporary collection; some experience designing denim is preferred
- Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in design or art-related field
- 5 or more years of experience in a design role
- Certification and/or training in relevant software programs
