Video Control Room Intern (24 hrs/week)

The ideal candidate has a strong passion for news, pop culture and sports and can contribute to creating engaging, savvy, and informative digital‑native video content. This is a hands‑on opportunity to work in both studio and control room environments, gaining valuable experience in all aspects of video production.

    September 14, 2026 – November 20, 2026 (10 weeks)
  • Schedule:

    24 hours per week
  • Location:

    On‑site at our New York City headquarters
  • Compensation: $20.00 per hour
  • College Credit:
    Eligible where applicable through your institution

Note:

This position requires in‑office attendance at our Midtown Manhattan office.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist in all aspects of studio operations, including set creation, set‑up, and breakdown.
  • Assist with teleprompter operation during studio recordings.
  • Collaborate with the production team to ensure smooth execution of video shoots.
  • Assist with both field and office production tasks as needed.
What We’re Looking For
  • Current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA, MA students, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year.
  • Interest in working in an online news environment.
  • Knowledge of control room and studio operations, with a focus on technical direction and audio.
  • Ideally simple editing skills.
  • Must enjoy working collaboratively and accurately; attention to detail a must.

Base Pay Range: $20/hr - $20/hr

We’re committed to offering competitive and flexible compensation to attract top talent. This pay range reflects our good faith estimate for the role and may vary based on a candidate’s experience, skills, location, and other relevant factors.

For bonus‑eligible roles, targets are determined based on multiple considerations, including market benchmarks and individual contributions.
