BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center is a venue that includes a 900‑seat proscenium theatre and a 250‑seat three‑quarter thrust. The center hosts a wide variety of events, from musical productions, concerts, and dance recitals to professional conferences and city and state events.

We are seeking freelance lighting technicians and programmers who have at least three years of professional experience and are comfortable programming and running shows on ETC Ion Xe lighting consoles. Candidates should understand how to focus a standard repertory lighting plot, have experience running a follow spot, and grasp the logistics and etiquette of working with lighting designers, stage managers, and production managers.

Academic experience alone will be considered, but professional event lighting experience is highly preferred.

Physical requirements include the ability to climb ladders, operate Skyjacks scissor lifts, work at heights exceeding 40 feet, use tools and specialized equipment typical of a theatrical setting, lift and carry up to 40 pounds, and stand or sit for long periods of time. Work may also occur in confined spaces.
