Position: Social Media Intern (Newsroom)
Location: New York

The New York Post is seeking a Social Media Intern (24 hrs/week) for our Audience Development team for the summer of 2026.

Internship Details: 24 hrs/week, February 2, 2026 - April 10, 2026. Part‑time on‑site schedule. Open to current juniors and seniors pursuing a BA or MA, and recent graduates who completed their degree within the past year.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in managing and creating content for the New York Post’s social media accounts across Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Tik Tok.
  • Engage with our vibrant audience by responding to comments, sharing updates, and sparking conversations.
  • Discover and curate viral content to keep our feeds fresh, fun, and trending.
  • Collaborate with the editorial team to highlight breaking news, top stories, and exclusive Post content.
  • Analyze social media performance to help optimize strategies and increase engagement.
Qualifications
  • Passionate, social media‑savvy student or recent grad with experience in a news or newsroom setting.
  • Strong communicator with a creative flair who knows how to capture attention with a single post.
  • Up‑to‑date on social media trends, viral content, and pop culture, especially in the fast‑paced world of news.
  • Team player who can collaborate across departments, with a go‑getter attitude and enthusiasm for learning.
  • Previous social media experience is a plus, but a genuine passion for digital content and engagement is key.
Compensation

Pay: $17 per hour.
