Part-Time Contributing Editor, Alexa

Job Description

The New York Post’s Alexa luxury fashion and lifestyle section is seeking an experienced part‑time Contributing Editor to steer Alexa’s print and web content, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and a unique, authoritative voice.

• Top‑edit stories and provide feedback to writers
• Write headlines, subheads and captions with Alexa’s signature wit
• Proofread stories, circulate pages and input corrections in In Design
• Ensure tone and accuracy align with the house style guide
• Coordinate closely with the editor, copy editor, photo and design departments
• Prepare stories for web and write SEO‑optimized headlines for a digital audience
• Track workflow through the editorial process at a fast pace and report into the office five days per week during Alexa production periods

• At least 10 years of professional experience editing features for a print publication
• Excellent editorial judgment and strong writing, line‑editing and communication skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced work environment with strong multitasking, organizational and prioritization skills under tight deadlines
• Proficiency in InDesign, Word Press and Airtable
• Deep knowledge of high‑end products, luxury consumers and celebrity news
