Role Description

The Reporter is a full-time, on-site role based in New York, NY, responsible for covering and documenting club activities, events, and community stories for internal and external communications. This role involves researching and reporting on happenings across the Club, conducting interviews with members, staff, and leadership, and writing clear, engaging articles and summaries for newsletters, website content, and social media. The Reporter will collaborate with club management to identify newsworthy topics, maintain an editorial calendar, and ensure timely coverage of events and announcements.

Day-to-day work includes attending club events, gathering quotes and multimedia content, verifying information, and aligning all reporting with club standards, tone, and privacy expectations. The Reporter will also help maintain consistency in messaging across platforms and support broader communication initiatives as needed.

Qualifications
  • Reporting and news writing skills, including the ability to research, verify facts, and produce accurate, timely coverage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences and platforms.
  • Writing skills focused on clear, concise, and engaging content that reflects the club’s brand and community values.
  • Multimedia skills, such as basic photography, video capture, or audio recording, to support storytelling across channels.
  • Relevant experience in journalism, communications, or public relations, preferably in community, lifestyle, or hospitality settings.
  • Ability to work on-site, attend events with flexible hours as needed, and build positive professional relationships with members and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills, including managing an editorial calendar and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
