The Research Assistant will work with Jessica Walker to support ongoing promotion of her recently released book as well as develop research and production for a new graphic novel project and support with event facilitation around the theme of children’s book publishing.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Meet bi-weekly with faculty to develop research plan
  • Identify primary and secondary resources that can inform the project’s written and visual content
  • Assemble research findings into a shared repository which may include Google Drive and Miro
  • Document all works cited for written and visual resources
  • Support with promotion and launch events for project being released in November 2025
  • Support with social media strategic plan
Qualifications
- Education, Experience, and Skills
  • Experience conducting research for visual and/or narrative projects
  • Ability to work independently
  • Familiarity with novels and graphic novels for young adults
  • Experience with creating social media content for creative projects

WORK MODE:
Hybrid/Split
- Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent percentage of time on campus (ex 1-4x/week) and also work some of the time remotely.

#LI-DNI Hourly Rate: $31.37/hour

This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement between SENS-UAW, Local 7902 and the University.
