Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Colorist with expertise in DaVinci Resolve and a solid grasp of motion picture VFX fundamentals. We need someone who is comfortable with compositing basics like clean-up and removal, simple set extensions, 2D tracking, and warping or paint-style fixes. The ideal candidate speaks the VFX language fluently and slots smoothly into production workflows, with experience across commercial advertising, motion pictures, and episodic television.
Luxury fashion and beauty experience is a plus.
- Perform advanced color grading and correction using DaVinci Resolve
- Understanding of basic compositing concepts such as clean-up and removal, simple set extensions, basic 2D tracking, and warping or paint-style fixes.
- Ability to color match references + products and develop the look of a sequence in collaboration with clients and directors
- Maintain the department's best working practices, ensuring consistency and quality across all deliverables.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met without compromising quality.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior colorists, fostering a collaborative and creative work environment.
- Strong color management skills + interest in following developing technologies and refining techniques.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues that may arise during the post-production process.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve or a relevant color correction package.
- Minimum 5 years professional experience as a colorist, with a strong portfolio showcasing highend work.
- In-depth knowledge of color theory, color science, and grading techniques.
- Strong technical understanding of post processes including workflows, formats, codecs, camera types, resolution and delivery standards.
- Creative sensibility in picking up nuances of color and detail on a per shot basis + receptive to feedback.
- Proactive, diligent and positive communication skills with both clients and colleagues
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud + other post-production software and tools.
- Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
- Experience in the beauty + fashion industry is a huge plus +
