The Student Assistant Specialist will cultivate and maintain Literaty Studies events throughout the academic year. This position requires a student who is a great communicator and community-minded, who is organized, responsible and willing to promote a live and active departmental culture.

Responsibilities
  • Maintains departmental instagram through weekly posts about departmental events, advertising upcoming internships, open publications for students to submit and internship and job opportunities.
  • Create compelling faculty, student and alumni highlights on instagram.
  • Photographs major departmental events to post in the media.
  • Conducts faculty interviews regarding their new book publications in order to post in the media.
  • Assist (particularly after hours) with large events in terms of set up, clean up and overall organization.
  • Investigates alumni who have published books or have landed in jobs related to Literary Studies in order to feature in the media.
Minimum Qualifications
  • A Literaty Studies undergraduate student
  • Expertise with social media and event planning
Work Mode

Hybrid - Employees hired for this position primarily work remotely with the occasional on-campus presence required with advanced notice. Employees in this role will also be expected to use their best judgment to be on campus when necessary in order to best fulfill the responsibilities of their job descriptions.

Hourly Rate: $21 per hour
