Join a team designing the next generation of immersive digital experiences for VR and wearable technology. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly creative and detail-oriented UI Designer to help shape intuitive, visually compelling interfaces that will be experienced by users on cutting-edge device platforms.
The ideal candidate is passionate about visual design, thrives in fast-paced environments, and can translate complex requirements into elegant, user-friendly experiences. While experience with VR, AR, or XR is a plus, exceptional visual craft and strong UI execution are the primary focus.
Responsibilities- Design high-fidelity, production-ready user interfaces for VR and wearable device experiences.
- Create end-to-end user flows, from information architecture and wire framing through final visual design.
- Translate product requirements into intuitive and visually engaging interface solutions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, including product, engineering, and design teams.
- Maintain visual consistency across experiences and contribute to scalable design systems.
- Iterate quickly based on feedback while balancing multiple projects and priorities.
- Adapt to evolving business needs and support a variety of product initiatives.
- Deliver polished designs that meet a high standard of usability, quality, and visual excellence.
- 4+ years of UI, visual, or product design experience.
- A portfolio showcasing exceptional visual design craft and execution.
- Expert knowledge of typography, color, layout, spacing, iconography, and grid systems.
- Advanced proficiency in Figma and modern design tools.
- Experience designing end-to-end user experiences and interface flows for digital products.
- Strong ability to manage multiple work streams and changing priorities.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- NYC-based candidates strongly preferred.
- Experience designing for VR, AR, XR, wearable technology, or emerging device platforms.
- Background in device UI, operating systems, platform experiences, or hardware-adjacent products.
- Motion design experience or a strong understanding of motion principles.
- Experience working within or contributing to established design systems.
- Experience in large-scale consumer product environments.
- Consistently delivers visually polished, production-ready design work.
- Quickly adapts to new product areas and ambiguous problem spaces.
- Balances creativity with practicality to create intuitive user experiences.
- Collaborates effectively across disciplines and incorporates feedback constructively.
- Maintains a high bar for quality, craftsmanship, and execution across all deliverables.
This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $90.00 - $110.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
