News Nation is looking for a hardworking, creative, and proactive booking producer for primetime and digital programming. The ideal candidate has advanced knowledge of news makers and political leaders. As a booking producer, you will work with show producers to arrange guest appearances on the programs to discuss the news of the day and/or breaking news. You must have excellent organizational skills, be an effective communicator, be detail-oriented, and work well under deadline pressure.
The position is based at the network's offices in New York, NY.
- Pitch stories daily
- Identify top tier guests, cultivate relationships, and arrange guest appearances on the show
- Conduct pre-interviews and in-depth research on range of topics
- Organize and produce elements for show segments
- Monitor the latest news and locate people, images, and sound editorial information via Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Dataminr, You Tube, and other platforms
- Find reliable guests/witnesses quickly during breaking news situations
- Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership
Skills:
- A bachelor's degree is preferred
- Extensive list of contacts, and ability to find and book high-profile guests, as well as people at the center of major news stories
- Flexibility with your hours, as breaking news or major events warrant
- Five or more years of experience in television
- Strong editorial judgement
- Knowledge of and passion for current events and politics
- Willingness and ability to work under tight deadline pressures while juggling long-term bookings
- Experience with Lexis Nexis, ENPS would be valuable
$75,000 - $90,000 (per experience)
