Senior CAD Designer

ESC has an immediate opportunity for a Senior CAD Designer to support our premier retail client's Women's Design team at its New York Design Office. This advanced-level creative role will develop original prints, patterns, graphics, and colorways for women's apparel, with a strong emphasis on a modern contemporary aesthetic
.

Working in partnership with the Art Manager and cross-functional design teams, the Senior CAD Designer will research emerging artwork and fashion trends, help shape seasonal creative direction, and translate concepts into compelling, production-ready artwork. The ideal candidate combines strong artistic ability with advanced technical skills, a sophisticated sense of color and trend, and experience designing for a fast-paced retail environment. This position is covering an immediate vacancy, working hybrid in NYC in an open-ended contract.

• Research current print, pattern, color, graphic, and artwork trends in partnership with the Art Manager to help influence seasonal conceptual direction.
• Create compelling, original artwork that supports seasonal concepts, product strategies, and the Nine West brand aesthetic.
• Develop prints, patterns, graphics, layouts, and seasonal colorways for women's apparel.
• Translate creative concepts, trend direction, and inspiration into production-ready CAD artwork.
• Ensure artwork aligns with brand standards, target customers, competitive benchmarks, and overall brand positioning.
• Recolor and adapt existing artwork to support seasonal palettes and product needs.
• Prepare accurate repeats, layouts, color separations, and technical files for production.
• Partner with apparel designers, merchants, product development teams, and sourcing partners throughout the design and production process.
• Incorporate feedback and revise artwork while maintaining creative integrity, quality, and deadlines.
• Manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven retail environment.

• Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Textile Design, Illustration
  , or a related field.
• Minimum of 6-7 years of relevant CAD, print, pattern, or graphic design experience
  .
• At least 5 years of print, pattern, and graphic design experience within the retail or apparel industry preferred.
• Previous experience supporting women's contemporary apparel is strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
  .
• Experience with Ned Graphics or comparable textile and CAD design software.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating original print and pattern development, color sensibility, technical execution, and a modern contemporary aesthetic.
• Thorough understanding of repeat patterns, colorways, artwork layouts, and production-ready file preparation.
• Strong awareness of fashion, color, print, and consumer trends.
• Ability to work onsite in New York City Monday through Thursday.
