Position: Pattern Maker – Sample Room, Ponsé Group
Location: New York

Ponsé Group is a fashion house founded in New York City, by two people who seek to express their understanding of beauty onto garments. We are serious about our craft but playful in design and spirit. We are now building our own in-house sample room and are looking for a pattern maker and a sample maker to work with us from day one.

The Role

You will work directly with the founder, developing every piece from sketch to finished garment. Each piece goes through several iterations, and your opinions will be valued in a collaborative environment. We're looking for people who celebrate craftsmanship and beauty just like us.

Details:

Part time, 20-hour week, on-site in New York (Lower East Side and Williamsburg)
$25 – 50 per hour depending on experience (approximately $2000 – $4000 per month)
After three months, the role can convert to full-time position with competitive salary
Women’s ready-to-wear; working sample size US 2; strong flat pattern skills, comfortable working from drapes; CAD is a strong plus

Detailed Responsibilities

Develop patterns and revisions directly with the founder in a fast-paced, iterative environment
Assist in the technical setup of the sample room, including selecting and purchasing machines and equipment
Join garment and fabric sourcing trips with the founders, domestically and internationally
Help establish and document house standards for fit, proportion, and construction
