A leading publisher is seeking a Book Designer to support their creative team. This temporary role is located in New York City, with onsite work Monday-Thursday and remote Fridays optional. Candidates should have at least 3 years of book design experience, proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, and strong typography and layout skills.
Book Designer Responsibilities:- Develop and refine layouts for hardcover and paperback books, ensuring design consistency.
- Make corrections to reprints and prepare mechanical files for production.
- Present design concepts and revisions to art directors and editors for feedback.
- Collaborate with team members and external departments to meet project deadlines.
- Support the design team with various tasks related to book development and production.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of professional book design experience.
- Proven talent in creating innovative book layouts, typography, and use of color.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Familiarity with print production processes.
