Are you a driven student journalist eager to work in an award-winning newsroom before your senior year? The Wall Street Journal internship program offers an unparalleled opportunity for college juniors to gain practical work experience in our award-winning newsrooms in New York, Detroit, San Francisco and Los Angeles with mentorship and tailored training sessions. Graduate students enrolled in a degree program by the Final date to receive applications – October 31, 2026 – who are returning to school in the fall are also eligible to apply.

We are looking for ambitious students who think foremost about the audience and are able to work independently under deadline pressure. You don’t need to be a business or economics expert, but you must have a commitment to high journalistic standards.
Desk assignments may include:
- Automobiles, Detroit
- Technology, San Francisco
- Markets, New York
- Corporate Reporting, New York
- Dow Jones Newswires, New York
- Personal Technology Reporting, New York
- Personal Finance Reporting, New York
- Work closely with other reporters and editors to deliver prompt, accurate reporting of news.
- Have the opportunity to write features and cover breaking news ranging from economic indicators and company earnings to big industry or national trends.
- Pitch your own stories, videos, graphics and/or social posts and follow them through to completion with supervision and guidance from an editor.
- Completed at least one prior reporting internship with another professional media organization or published exceptional work with a campus news outlet or as a freelancer.
- Dedication to high journalism standards.
- Excellent writing and reporting skills.
- A demonstrated interest in business reporting is a plus, though prior business or economics reporting experience isn’t required.
- Experience with and interest in responsible AI experimentation, data analysis, data-driven projects is encouraged.
10 weeks between June and August.
