"The Story with Martha Mac Callum" is seeking a Breaking News Producer with extensive control room experience who can write scripts as news happens, create compelling and accurate lower thirds for live events and quickly build up-to-date research on late-breaking stories. The ideal candidate has experience writing under tight deadlines, manages pressure with composure and has solid editorial judgement. The Breaking News Producer will also step-in as back-up Line Producer on occasion.

• Write up-to-date scripts under tight deadlines
• Build compelling and concise lower thirds during live events
• Monitor multiple sources for new developments on breaking stories
• Quickly turn relevant sound, visuals, and graphics in the control room

• 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of skills and demonstrated experience.
• Prior experience copy-editing
• Experience timing a live show in a control room
• Strong interest/knowledge of current events and politics
• A passion for storytelling with a strong creative drive; willingness to take risks
• Editorial confidence to execute a show roadmap
• A Bachelor's degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $83,.00 annually.
